I/O DEVICES

Overview

Trio’s range of I/O Systems increase the functionality of motion-first automation solutions. This enables application developers to integrate devices such as additional servo drives, stepper drives, and encoders, as well three-wire sensors, thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors, plus digital and analogue inputs and outputs – and more.

Trio’s I/O Systems are based on I/O slices, with each slice dedicated to specific functionality. Giving the flexibility to add exactly the functionality you need, this approach achieves the most compact and cost-effective machine design. As they are fully scalable, with Trio’s I/O Systems you can increase functionality as the requirements of your application grows.

Fast and simple to connect, the I/O Slices simply click-in to place, with rapid configuration achieved through Trio’s free to use Motion Perfect commissioning tool.

Offering a flexible choice of I/O Systems to suit your application requirement, Trio I/O Systems include:

MS I/O

Trio’s MS I/O System enables direct connection to Trio’s new Motion-PLC range of controllers. Communicating over high-speed EtherCAT, the MS I/O System supports update rates from 125us to 4ms, and the system can also integrate with any third-party EtherCAT master.

Flexslice I/O

Trio’s Flexslice EtherCAT I/O is based on high-speed communications with functions tightly synchronised to motion using EtherCAT distributed clocks. This I/O is automatically mapped to Trio EtherCAT master controllers, and it can also be used with third-party masters.

CAN I/O

Trio’s CAN I/O System is based on the tried-and-tested CANbus protocol for communication and control between Trio Motion Coordinators equipped with a CANbus port and the CAN I/O modules. Trio’s CAN I/O can also integrate with third-party masters.

MC664 Expansion

The MC664 Expansion Module System allows configuration of your system by connecting up to 7 half height or 3 full height modules. Each module attaches to the controller via a high density bus connection and a uniquely designed screw that integrates with the earth planes of all expansion modules and the controller.
